2011 Recipient - Miranda Thomas
Hey Ms. Bell,
This is Maranda Thomas, a recipient of the Nick Bell Scholarship for this academic school year. I am from Memphis, Tn, the youngest of 4 children, and an aunt and great aunt (2 nieces, 3 nephews, and 1 great niece). I am a very family-oriented person and love my family dearly. I am a Christian and love the Lord with all my heart. Through His strength, I try to live my life for His glory everyday of my life. I praise dance at church, and I love it. I am under watchcare (home church away from home) at Beth-el Missionary Baptist Church. I am a senior for the second time here at State. My major is Secondary Math Education with a minor in African-American Studies. When I graduate, I plan on teaching Math and starting graduate school the following semester. Eventually, I would like to get married and have children. I look forward to having a family of my own someday. As for campus involvement, I am an RA in Hurst Hall. This is my third year being an RA. This job is a lot of hardwork, and a lot of my time goes into this job. I am involved with RHA and different campus ministries. I am also a part of two honor societies here at State. I am looking forward to graduating this year as well.
Shiloh,
Maranda
