The Nick Bell Foundation in Partnership with Faith Chapel’s Student Ministry Announce 2011 Scholarship Recipient

Faith Chapel Christian Center Scholarship Review Team named Joshua Gentry a graduate of Fairfield High School as the 2011 recipient of the Nick Bell Mentoring Memorial Foundation Scholarship during the church’s annual Graduation Celebration ceremonies on June 3rd.
The one time $1500 scholarship was awarded to Joshua as a result of his active involvement in athletics, demonstrated leadership ability and academic achievements. Joshua also wrote a 500 word essay entitled, “I Am More than a Conqueror!” The narrative presentation addressed:
1) an obstacle he had experienced;
2) a description of how his trust in God and
3) the support of his family helped him to overcome the obstacle.
True to the confession made by Minister Alondio Hill, FCCC’s Student Ministry Director, “the recipient of this scholarship will be an amazing young person”, Joshua’s paper was also identified as the winner of FCCC’s Student Resource Ministry’s Essay Contest. Joshua wrote in his essay that in spite of his obstacles, he is also the recipient of a football scholarship to Grambling State University.
