Allyson Mouron accepting $250 NBMMF contribution to Alberta Elementary School following recent storm

A plea went out from an area elementary teacher wanting to support friends who teach at Alberta Elementary School in Tuscaloosa,Alabama. Several schools in the Tuscaloosa area were destroyed in the recent tornado and are having to “move into” other schools. Allyson Mouron, a local elementary school teacher wanted to collect supplies so that the teachers and students would have what they need to finish the year. Mrs. Mouron accepted a $250 NBMMF contribution on behalf of the school and is delivering the money order for supplies on Monday afternoon. Monday was used by the Alberta teachers as a workday to get ready for the students arriving on Tuesday. Supplies Alberta teachers identified as critical needs included:

  • Construction paper

  • Copy paper

  • Individual Marker Boards

  • Expo Markers

  • Electric Pencil Sharpeners

  • Children’s Books in good condition (for students Pre-K through 2nd grade)

  • Manipulatives: time, money, counting, etc.

  • Pocket Charts

  • Puzzles

  • Math games, Reading games, File Folder games

All efforts to assist youth are dependent upon the generous contributions by individuals and organizations to the Nick Bell Mentoring Memorial Foundation. If you are interested in finding a way to sow into children and teens effected by the storm, we encourage you to give to the foundation as we redirect a portion of our efforts to storm victims. It is the heart of the foundation to always immediately convert contributions to serving youth.
